Ah christ, it’s Fenris/Isabela, ME3 style.

I didn’t make this confession ( I haven’t officially made any) but I don’t know…OP didn’t phrase this well. I personally never had much love for Tali; I found her naive and well … useless party wise to my Shepards so I didn’t like her in Me1. Me2 comes around and I see she’s grown more, emotionally and independently and this adds points in her favor but I still did not like her much especially with her adamant stance on mass genocide for a race her people created. I will admit, I have not fully interacted with Tali as much as is possible so this attributes to my bias. 

I don’t hate Tali because she hooks up with an unromanced Garrus; I vehemently hate the pairing however. I feel because EA or BioWare did not spring the cash to hire Kal’reegar’s V.A. they hook up Tali with the only other popular Dextro in your crew, that it was just a “Hey you’re dextro, I’m dextro, let’s bang” kind of thing. Garrus also has insulted quarians in previous dialogue and Tali’s reaction to him inquiring about her immune system in Me2, which clearly made her uncomfortable, was to “threaten” him with a shotgun.  

I just… I see where OP is coming from, but what they listed is not a reasonable excuse to hate a character. Give me details OP, they matter to this fandom a lot.

Thank you for saying this perfectly <3   I don’t agree with hating a character over a pairing; that’s stupid, but if it’s what they want to hate on then go on ahead!  Everyone has a right to like/dislike something even if the reasoning doesn’t make sense to the rest of us.  If a Shali fan hates on Garrus because he can bang Tali then whatever, do what you wanna do…it doesn’t really matter because they’re fictional characters and they inspire hate/love in people for both strange and logical reasons.

Meanwhile, I’ll be over here soaked in Shakarian tears of love, joy, and happiness BECAUSE GODDAMN THEY HAD SUCH AMAZING ROMANCE SCENES IN ME3 <3

this is a horrible reason to hate a character. sure, there are about a billion and one different reasons to hate Tali, i could list all 4,000 of mine but idgaf. they shouldn’t be paired up, but that’s hardly their fault, now is it? it’s completely their writer’s fault. but that’s not the point.

point is, you shouldn’t hate a character for romancing someone just because you regret not doing the same. plain and simple.
